EQUITY FORCE
one pager manifesto

By Thijs Verheul, January 2023

It is 2023, we left churches, small towns, offices and 9 to 5 jobs with hierarchical structure. We give meaning to our lives by designing and building products that in one day hopefully will be the future. We sacrifice our free time in order to be part of a team that is in the run to build the next big thing, some feature or an additional piece to an existing spaghetti code monolith. Either working for a startup that has not seen the light of day or a big Tech firm that has a trillion valuation, we love building, we love hacking and we love having a piece of the pie so that next to our monthly paycheck we have ownership of what we build with our blood, sweat and tears. We are not a workforce

WE ARE EQUITY FORCE

Equity Force is a Tech Talent marketplace, wit a simple rule: All job applications you see will give you some ownership in the project you are working on. But fuck those recruiters headhunting you down for some boring job watching the sealing. On Equity Force you find your own path to a new team that feels like family. Where you will get in addition to your monthly salary: shares, stock or other type of piece of the
🍰

We take ownership and find a place for you where you can earn your way in the business you are building. Our mission is to find you a team that feels like family.

THE PROBLEM

In 2013 I founded United Wardrobe, a Dutch Fashion Marketplace. I had the luck of bumping in to a genius called Sjuul Berden that saw a open spot in the market. He gave me 49% of the
🍰 to pursue his dream: Building a place where his sisters could buy and sell fashion on a safe, easy and fun way. We succeeded and in 7 years we became the biggest Fashion Marketplace of the Netherlands and Belgium while scaling through Europe. In 2020 we got acquired by Vinted and I thought that I will sit out my days by investing and watching my portfolio. But that shit is boring as FUCK. I was looking for some other smart guy to build a new platform together with. But after posting on LinkedIn, searching on Reddit, checking StackOverflow boards, and joining AngelList I just could not find an inspirational place with an clear overview of new career adventures for people that want to take ownership.

That is where the seed of Equity Force got planted because the one thing that I learned is that living from paycheck to paycheck will never give you the freedom you deserve.

It is time to take your future in your own hands, it is time to get your shit together, it is time to join EQUITY FORCE
